Troop 231 Scout Uniform GuideScouts (boys) and Scouters (adult leaders) should wear their "class A" uniforms (the tan official BSA uniform shirts with appropriate patches) to all official functions. The tan official BSA uniform shirt is appropriate for formal ceremonies, meetings which will not involve the boys getting dirty or sweaty, and usually when reporting to camps. The Troop 231 neckerchief and slide should normally be worn whenever wearing the tan shirt. Scouts (boys) and Scouters (adult leaders) should wear "class B" uniforms (red Troop 231 T-shirts) to activities that involve sports, cleaning, or other activities in which the uniform is likely to get dirty. Scout uniform pants, shorts, belts, and socks are not required, but are encouraged. The Merit Badge Sash and other formal awards are appropriate
for Scouts to wear on the tan BSA uniform shirt during Courts of Honor,
Eagle Scout Ceremonies, or other formal award ceremonies. The OA Sash should be worn to OA functions by OA members. The Nani-Ba-Zhu (NBZ) Claws (and attached necklace), may be worn by NBZ members with any Scout uniform, but they are only required to be worn while at Summer Camp, or at NBZ functions. They should not be worn anytime their wear might subject the wearer to potential injury, or might cause potential damage to the Claws or their attached necklaces. The Nani-Ba-Zhu (NBZ) Black Diamonds (and attached necklace), may be
worn by by Black Diamond recipients (prior to the recipients induction into NBZ),
with any Scout uniform, but they are only required to be worn while at Summer Camp,
or at NBZ functions. Like the NBZ Claws, Black Diamonds should not be worn anytime
their wear might subject the wearer to potential injury, or might cause potential
damage to the Black Diamond or its attached necklace. Click on the scout picture
