Winter Camporee - January 2010
The 2010 Annual Wagon Wheel District Winter Camporee was held at Camp Wakonda on
January 22-24. The theme was the BSA 100-Year Celebration, and the events were:
Unique Fire Building Competition, Semaphore/Morse Code, Animal-print Plaster-cast,
Orienteering (Map reading), Plant Identification, Canyon Crossing (via “rope bridge”),
Ice fishing, Sled race (build your own sled), and Scavenger hunt. Lunch was potato
chowder and chicken soup, and also included what every winter camp should have - lots
of hot chocolate! We enjoyed every moment! During free time between our Troops events
we built a snow sculpture of Jeff being eaten by a snow shark (as you can see in some
of the pictures below). We all had a blast camping in tents at the 2010 Winter Camporee!!!
